This statement by our Argentine sibling organization Federación Anarquista de Rosario (FAR), released in early June of 2023, celebrates 15 years of organizational continuity. The statement traces their careful political and organizational development over the last decade and a half.

15 YEARS BUILDING A STRONG PEOPLE, FOR SOCIALISM AND FREEDOM
Towards the end of 2008 a group of young anarchists decided to found a new political organization, the Joaquín Penina Libertarian Column (CLJP). The decision was not easy. Among anarchists in Rosario, the need for an organization that would bring together our efforts and guide our practice was a much debated issue. However, the experience of the OAR (Anarchist Organization of Rosario) from the late 90’s deeply influenced the decision to organize ourselves, formalize an organizational structure and, more importantly, to project a militancy with revolutionary intent that sought to influence the social struggles of the moment. Then, the CLJP was nourished not only by the experience of the OAR, but also by the militant trajectory of comrades who had approached that project and the guidance of valuable militants who generously proposed, among other things, that we read “the classics” like Bakunin and Malatesta, Goldman, Kropotkin, Berneri, and to get in contact with the fAu (Federación Anarquista Uruguaya), a sister organization of Uruguay and a beacon for organized anarchism in Latin America.
The first years of our organization were marked by a strong commitment to social militancy, which we still maintain today, but which at that time forged our line. We said, enough of coffee shop anarchism and university anarchism, anarchism is an ideology and a political proposal built from the struggle of the people themselves, and that is where it belongs. Our anarchism is that of the road blockades, assemblies, pickets, strikes and mobilizations. It is also that of handing out leaflets and talking to our co-workers and neighbors on a daily basis. In this way we are able to build a political organization that allows us to navigate the day-to-day struggle without ever losing sight of our ultimate goal, social revolution.
Over the years, the Column, as we call it in-house, came to be seen as a tool that needed to be improved. Listening and learning from the experience of the Uruguayan Anarchist Federation and the organizations of Brazil, we decided in 2015 to take the step to organize ourselves as a Federation. Coherence, and the need to generate a tool that can transcend the people who make it up, with an organizational structure, a program of action and our own analysis of reality, led us to create the FAR in our first Congress in 2015. In this instance we formalized things that we had already been developing but without the necessary “legality” and we were encouraged to project, with seriousness and ambition, our strategy for construction. It was a Congress that also allowed for an important growth in our social impact, having militants fully dedicated to the trade union task and then later on to the student sector, together with the support of our construction in the neighborhood sector that had been there since the beginning.
Then, in 2018 and 2021 we met again in our second and third congress to continue sharpening the pencil, reorienting our practices in a way that was sensitive to conjunctural changes and to modifications in the historical stage. We were also building a parallel process of organization at the international and national level that we believe to be extremely important and relevant for what we could call a new wave of organized anarchism. At the international level, from broader coordinations to the re-foundation of CALA (Coordinación Anarquista Latinoamericana) and at the national level the emergence of organizations in various parts of the country, such as the OAC (Organización Anarquista de Córdoba), OASC (Organización Anarquista de Santa Cruz) and OAT (Organización Anarquista de Tucumán) with whom we have been able to sustain spaces of organization for some time now.
This anniversary takes place in a complex moment for all of us who want to transform reality. Apathy, individualism and dispersion are epochal marks that can be traced back to almost the entire neoliberal era. However, the pandemic deepened, aggravated and was at some point an inflection point in how things had been developing. It is the task of our organization to rearrange our practices taking this into account in order to influence and contribute to social struggles as we desire.
When they attempt to sell the idea that elections are the only possible way forward, even though nobody believes that anything good will come of it, it is the task of anarchism to be present and engaged in the struggle, from an ideological perspective, to unite those of us who dream of other tomorrows, of socialism and freedom. Faced with the opportunism of institutionalist and possibilist militancy, we will contribute our revolutionary and combative perspective, to confront in every workplace, institute and neighborhood the attacks against our victories and rights. In the face of those who see no hope for the future, it will be our task to sow the seeds of organization, socialism and freedom, for the battles of today and tomorrow…

15 AÑOS CONSTRUYENDO UN PUEBLO FUERTE, POR EL SOCIALISMO Y LA LIBERTAD-
Sobre fines del año 2008 un grupo de jóvenes anarquistas decidimos fundar una nueva organización política, la Columna Libertaria Joaquín Penina. La decisión no fue fácil, dentro del propio anarquismo rosarino la necesidad de que exista una organización que nuclee nuestros impulsos y oriente la práctica era un tema muy discutido. Sin embargo, la experiencia de la OAR (Organización Anarquista de Rosario) desde finales de los ´90 influyó profundamente en la decisión de organizarnos, formalizar una orgánica y lo que fue mucho más importante, proyectar una militancia con intención revolucionaria que buscara incidir en las luchas sociales del momento. Entonces, la CLJP se nutrió no solo de la experiencia de la OAR, sino también de la trayectoria militante de compañerxs que se habían acercado a ese proyecto y la orientación de valiosxs militantes que generosamente nos propusieron, entre otras cosas, leer a “los clásicos” como Bakunin y Malatesta, Goldman, Kropotkin, Berneri, y ponernos en contacto con la fAu (Federación Anarquista Uruguaya), organización hermana del Uruguay y faro para el anarquismo organizado latinoamericano.
Los primeros años de nuestra organización estuvieron marcados por una fuerte apuesta a la militancia social, que hoy en día sostenemos, pero que en ese momento fue forjadora de nuestra línea. Dijimos, basta de anarquismo de café y universidad, el anarquismo es una ideología y una propuesta política construida desde la lucha misma del pueblo, es ahí donde pertenece. Nuestro anarquismo es el de corte de ruta, asamblea, piquetes, paros y movilizaciones. También es el de repartir volantes y hablar en el cotidiano con nuestros compañerxs de trabajo y vecinxs. Así logramos construir una organización política que nos permite navegar por el día a día de lucha sin perder nunca de vista nuestro objetivo de máxima, la revolución social.
Con el paso de los años, la Columna, como la llamamos de entrecasa, se nos presentó como una herramienta a perfeccionar. Escuchando y aprendiendo de la experiencia de la Federación Anarquista Uruguaya y las organizaciones de Brasil decidimos en 2015 dar el paso para conformarnos como Federación. La coherencia, y la necesidad de generar una herramienta que pueda trascender a las personas que la conformamos, con carta orgánica, un programa de acción y un análisis propio de la realidad, nos llevaron a crear la FAR en nuestro primer Congreso del año 2015. En esta instancia formalizamos cosas que ya veníamos sosteniendo pero sin la “legalidad” necesaria y nos animamos a proyectar con seriedad y ambición nuestra estrategia de construcción. Fue un Congreso que también nos permitió un crecimiento importante en nuestra incidencia social, pasando a contar con militantes abocados de pleno a la tarea sindical y luego más adelante a lo estudiantil, junto con el sostenimiento de nuestra construcción en el sector barrial que venía desde el comienzo.
Luego, en 2018 y 2021 volvimos a reunirnos en nuestro segundo y tercer congreso para seguir afinando el lápiz, reorientando nuestras prácticas siendo sensibles a los cambios coyunturales y las modificaciones en la etapa histórica. También fuimos construyendo en paralelo un proceso de organización a nivel internacional y nacional que creemos sumamente importante y relevante para lo que podríamos llamar esta nueva ola de anarquismo organizado. A nivel internacional, desde coordinaciones más amplias, hasta la re-fundación de la CALA (Coordinación Anarquista Latinoamericana) y en lo nacional el surgimiento de organizaciones en varios puntos del país, como la OAC (Organización Anarquista de Córdoba), OASC (Organización Anarquista de Santa Cruz) y OAT (Organización Anarquista de Tucumán) con quienes logramos sostener espacios de articulación de forma permanente desde hace algún tiempo atrás.
Este aniversario se desarrolla en un momento complejo para todxs los que queremxs transformar la realidad. La apatía, el individualismo y la dispersión son marcas de época que sin embargo pueden rastrearse a casi toda la etapa neoliberal. Sin embargo, la pandemia profundizó, agravó y fue en algún punto una inflexión en cómo se venían desarrollando las cosas. Es tarea de nuestra organización reacomodar nuestras prácticas teniendo esto en cuenta para incidir y aportar a las luchas sociales como deseamos.
Cuando nos venden que las elecciones son el único camino posible, aunque nadie crea que nada bueno vendrá, es labor del anarquismo estar presente y dando batalla desde lo ideológico para aglutinar a quienes soñamos otros mañanas, de socialismo y libertad. Frente al oportunismo de militancias institucionalistas y posibilistas, aportaremos nuestra perspectiva revolucionaria y combativa, para enfrentar en cada lugar de trabajo, instituto y barrio las arremetidas contra nuestras conquistas y derechos. Frente a quienes no ven ninguna esperanza de futuro, será nuestro trabajo sembrar el germen de la organización, el socialismo y la libertad, para las batallas del hoy y del mañana…
