We re-post this statement by comrades in Revolutionary Anarchist Action in Turkey on the recent bombing, likely by supporters of ISIS, that maimed and killed dozens of mostly young activists organizing to support the revolutionary efforts underway in Rojava. It has been heavily edited for clarity and issues of translation.
Yesterday nearly three hundred people set off from different cities with the call of the Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF) in order to rebuilt Kobanê which ISIS has been attacking and looting. Stopping in Suruç, Turkey across the border before leaving for Kobane, these young people made a press release in front of the Amara Culture Center in Suruç (Pîrsus). At the end of their statement a bomb exploded in the middle of the crowd, silencing many hearts which had been beating with the hope of reconstruction.
According to current information 31 people died and hundreds are wounded in the explosion.
After this explosion we hear the names of the fallen ones from the hospitals of Suruç (Pîrsus). The ones who set off from many different cities, the ones with great hopes in their hearts, are now the fallen ones, by the actions of the murderers. The people who are going out to the streets in order to call them to account for the fallen ones, who are waiting in front of the hospitals, are now threatened with arrest as the police who arrived at Amara Cultural Center sooner than the ambulance. In Mersin in İstanbul, the people who go out to the streets are wanted to be massacred by murdereous state and by the collaborators of the murderers.
The ones who have assacred numerous lives, starting from the first day of the Kobanê Resistance, are now trying to discourage us by murdering our siblings.
We are trying to reconstruct a new life against the ISIS, against the state collaborating with ISIS, against the war politics of the state which never end. Whatever it costs, we are going to put on our sorrow, as our rage, we are going to reconstruct Kobanê and recreate a life on this looted geography!
